I helped manage new media campaigns in several states, most notably Colorado and Nebraska. In addition, I produced content for various organizational websites (including video and pictures); drafted and launched several email action campaigns; and managed relations between the campaigns and bloggers in various states.
Volunteer Staffer at Obama for America
February 2007 - November 2008
I helped establish a state organization in Colorado that eventually won the state for President Barack Obama with 53.5% of the vote - a swing of +6.5% from 2004. In addition, I performed outreach to the veterans community, the youth community, and the Latino community. Finally, I assisted with the operations of the 2008 Democratic National Convention, working closely with the Deputy Director of Operations for the Host Committee to ensure the event took place with minimal disruptions.
Managing Staffer at Colorado Coordinated Campaign

I managed the campaign of a first-time State Senate candidate in Colorado Springs, and came within 10,000 votes of defeating the Republican candidate in Colorado's most conservative district. In addition, I advanced events for the Democratic candidates for State Treasurer and Secretary of State, and helped coordinate efforts between various campaigns at different levels of government to ensure victory for the Colorado Democratic Party in 2006.
Deputy Field & Political Director at Ned Lamont for U.S. Senate

I organized Democratic voter support for a Democratic primary challenger to incumbent U.S. Senator Joe Lieberman, and won the primary with 51% of the vote. In addition, I created alliances between liberal/progressive issue interest groups and the campaign and advanced all events in Eastern Connecticut for the campaign.

I served in OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM as an ad-hoc battalion- and brigade-level civil affairs specialist. During OIF 1 (4/2003-3/2004) I managed and disseminated information from the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA) to local communities in Iraq. Finally, I helped guide and fund the civil reconstruction and restoration of basic municipal services in the towns of Balad, Iraq and Tuz Khurmatu, Iraq, including the administration of the first free, open and democratic elections in the country since 1958.
